Today is Friday Feb 28th. In protest of current DEI rollbacks, and layoffs of thousands of Federal Employees. The wallet is the most effective tool in capiltilist America to get the attention of the upper crust, and the government (who apparently needs these large corporations and the billionaires to further thier agenda.)
24 hours starting at midnight this morning and until midnight tonight, at the end of Feb. 28th, make no purchases from corporation and if possible spend no money at all. If something comes up and you must buy something only buy from locally owned shops, that are small businesses.
The People’s Movement USA is a grassroots movement led by J. Schwartz. He calls it a day of “economic resistance.” Spend no money today if possible.
In an Instagram post by the People’s Movement they state, “For generations our families worked, sacrificed, and fought to build a better future, yet here we stand, still waiting. We the people will not wait any longer. We stand in solidarity to honor the past and carve a new path for the future.”
This is just the kick off to begin two months long of economic blackouts to show the companies who have already dropped thier economic diversity and inclusion initiatives from their company standards. I will insert an image that shows the dates of the other boycotts upcoming.
Yet, for today, are you impassioned enough to not spend? I got what I needed from Aldi’s yesterday, and filled up my car with my wicked level of Kroger fuel points. discounting my gas to a dollar of a gallon, yesterday. So I am prepared to spend nothing. I also went as far as to delete all Meta, Google, and Amazon apps from my cell for the 28th so they cannot gain off of me from data tracking or ads. I don’t even want to accidentally click on them. I encourage this too for all of you. Your movements, likes, purchases, and demographics are more valuable to these companies than you think. It is hard to process since you can’t see it happening.
Stand with freedom. Stand with diversity and equality. We have fought my life, my parents lives, my grandparents and great grandparent lives for equality and civil rights. We cannot go back. We must go forward and continue to expand on love, acceptance, and freedom. Sacrifices have been made for centuries to get us here, and we cannot let them roll backwards on us.
